First ask yourself if you are comfortable building your Banshee from source. Then consult:

http://banshee.fm/download/development/

Generally to apply patches, you download them then before the build (the make step of the guide) use patch to apply them (e.g. patch -p1 -i name-and-path-of.patch in the banshee source dir).
