I think my error is slightly different than yours.  Mine doesn't occasionally repeat a track in the library, it is consistent, every time.  Also, it happens only when I import from a CD.

I loaded the daily PPA, ran an "sudo apt-get update", then restarted Banshee, and I still see the issue.

Thanks for your suggestion, but I don't think that fix solves it.

It's been fixed in git, either compile from git or wait for your
distributions packages to be updated. If you're running Ubuntu you can
use this ppa https://launchpad.net/~banshee-team/+archive/banshee-daily
It should have this fix in already.
