Re: [Banshee-List] iPhone Support in Banshee

Alternatively bindings to libgpod should do the same job. It's not that the banshee team, or anyone, doesn't want to support iPhones, iPods, ipads. It's just they're an incredible burden to support and the next apple firmware update could easily lock out 3rd party software for months again. That doesn't make it sound like a great idea to invest days/weeks in enhancing support or them

What seems to be required is c# bindings for libimobiledevice. This
would allow iphone and ipod touch support without needing to
jailbreak. This is what how the default file browser in ubuntu is able
to support iphone and ipod.

However no one has created c# bindings for libimobiledevice. The
banshee teams does not want to create and maintain these bindings (it
has come up before on this list). And you can be sure that no one else
is going to do it.

Unless someone steps up and creates the bindings then your just stiff
out of luck. As much as I hate to say it use rhythm box because
banshee refuses to support you.

And before someone says why don't I do it. Well if someone wants to
donate me an iphone then I will be happy to.

it works perfect to sync my iphone with gtkpod :-)

Caught an exception – System.Exception: org.freedesktop.Hal.NoSuch Device: No

i hope that somebody can help.
when i need to turn some switches thats only available on an jailbroken

banshee does not know that there is one. But if there would be a

Hello everyone,

Why is there no iPhone Support in banshee? The iPhone actually IS
working
with libgpod. It is working with Amarok or gtkpod.

So, in Amarok, there is an option to add an media player manually
by
giving
the path to it (eg. /media/iPhone) and set the device to "iphone"
and
then
you can put on music to the iPhone with amarok.

Would be so nice, if banshee would be able to do that too.
