I'll be delighted to see it in the PPA for Karmic.  Make sure you check the version numbers because there is already a 1.5.4 in the repository.

I'll get Banshee up in the PPA[1] before today (in my timezone) ends, I think.
Getting it into Debian and the Ubuntu Lucid will take a little longer.
