[Banshee-List] Banshee's current status and future development

I have tried Banshee on numerous occasion in the past few years, but have had
multiple issues that would keep me from using it. I loaded 1.5.3 the day of
release and while some (maybe most) issues that I've had with it in the past
have improved, I still have issues/questions.

1) My library consists of approximately 45k tracks. Doing anything in
Banshse is painfully slow. Other players are much snappier (Amarok,
Guayadeque, Rhythmbox), but are lacking in other areas. I would love to be
able to use Banshee, but currently it is nearly impossible. Between general
slowness and the constant (sometimes unrecoverable) "grey screen of sleep,"
I usually give up and open another player. Can anyone offer advice to
possibly speed things up or insight as to why this may be happening, other
than my libary being too large for Banshee to handle?

2) USB Mass Storage devices (in particular the Nexus One), while I LOVE
that managing music with Banshee is easier and more automated (album art
naming, folder structure, transcoding) it is a huge problem that playlists
are not being created on the device when they are transferred. This has
been an issue for approximately a year, since support for the G1 was
announced. Any idea of why or a timeframe for fixing this? I have already
filed a bug report for this.

3) Smart/dynamic playlists: love them, but I really wish that one of the
"fill" options was last.fm recommendations/similar tracks. This would make
this function much more useful.

Anyway, thanks for all the hard work, devs. Not trying to sound like I'm
bagging on anyone, just really wishing that there was a player that could
handle such things and Banshee is so close. I'm really hoping that these
last few annoyances/feature requests can be incorporated sooner rather than
later.
