Re: [Banshee-List] Updating Ubuntu Banshee from 1.6.1 to 1.7.4

The stable PPA is updated for every stable release (1.6.x) and the unstable PPA is updated for every development release (1.7.x).  As far as I know, the latest releases of the Banshee Community Extensions haven't been packaged for Ubuntu yet.  The 1.6.x version of the extensions, which shipped with Lucid, aren't compatible with the development version of Banshee.  I'm not sure, but I think that eventually these should be packaged and available in the Unstable PPA, along with the latest unstable Banshee release.  If you want to upgrade to Banshee right away, and don't want to lose the extra extensions, you might want to try building the extensions from source.

Hey all,
I am trying to do this update by adding both the daily builds and the
unstable (since the stable PPA is not updated at all) and when I try to
update, Synaptic wants me to remove all the other banshee items (like
community extensions, etc) - how do I get the updated versions of these as
well?  Thanks
