Re: [Banshee-List] The album covers arent saved =/

Yes. But also, What happens when it downloads the wrong cover art?
(As it is prone to doing - Depending on Album name)
Some sort of manual intervention is needed as well.

As Michael said, It gets saved into the /home/.cache/media-art folder.

    IMHO
The best way to handle Album art is the way it's done now.
(Finds art in the Album folder (or downloads if needed). Then
stores it in the cache folder for viewing in banshee)
What is "possibly" needed is some function to move/rename these
"Downloaded" cache files to their respective Album folders.

Writing images to the .mp3 metadata would be a disaster for me*.
So it must be as an option. And besides - I make a point of
removing ALL images from ALL my mp3's. It just makes bloated,
messy mp3's - Not to mention the waste of having the same image
duplicated in each song of the album.

    * Disaster - ie. Wouldn't work for me.
I have a Jukebox setup that ONLY boots into Banshee and my music
library is accessed via a read only server so no one can
    delete/damage by accident.

There's plenty of metadata other than cover art that *does* get
written to the file when that box is checked. Any changes you
make to a track's tags (like Artist, Album, etc) get written to
the file if you have the 'Write Metadata to Files' option
        checked.
Unfortunately, cover art isn't (yet) included as something
        that
gets saved to the track's metadata. Currently, Banshee
        just saves
the cover art in ~/.cache (inside a folder called media-art, I
think). The bug report that Alexander linked to is a good
        place
to go if you want to follow this feature's progress or
        contribute
a patch (or bribe a developer to write a patch).

Saving album art in metadata is not yet
        implemented, see
