Aww, shoot. I'm sorry, Sandy. I was trying to figure out what the
option "Copy files to media folders when importing" did. (There's no
tooltip for it, and the music files were being copied to my hard drive,
so I couldn't tell.) Actually, that's no excuse. I just screwed up and missed it. Sorry, Larry Sandy Armstrong wrote: On Sat, Sep 5, 2009 at 7:45 AM, Larry<l22h rcn com> wrote:Hi, I imported a CD that apparently did not contain meta-information about its name, songs, artists, etc. After importing it, it was marked as "Unknown Artist" and "Unknown Album" in both Banshee and on my hard drive where all of my music files are stored. In Banshee I filled in the album and song titles, artists, and genre information. I had hoped that that would correspondingly rename the music directory and files on my hard drive, but it did not. Is there any way to force this to happen?Yes, you can do this. Look in Edit->Preferences and you will find options for writing the metadata to the files, renaming them, etc. It is disabled by default, I think because most people on Linux don't like apps messing with their files. ;-) Hope this helps, Sandy _______________________________________________ banshee-list mailing list banshee-list gnome org http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/banshee-list |
