Not sure if this has been resolved, but you can get the current version of
Banshee (1.4.3) to run on Mac OS by installing the 2.2 version of Mono.

You can install Mono 2.2, and then install 2.4 to have both available on
your system.

Maybe this error points to a hardcoded version in Banshee? The relevant file
in 2.4 is:

/Library/Frameworks/Mono.framework/Versions/2.4/lib/libgobject-2.0.dylib
