Re: [Banshee-List] Not all user supplied cover art files recognized in Banshee 1.4.3

Hi Rizlaw,

The cover art can be called "cover.jpg" or "folder.jpg", more complicated names like "The Beatles - Hard Days Night.jpg" are ignored.  My directories have many jpgs ("front.jpg", "back.jpg", "booklet.jpg" etc) so I imagine that people like me are why the devs chose to look for only specific names, otherwise you might end up with a situation where people are unahappy about the particular one that has been chosen as the album art.

This does bring up the idea of the "Now Playing" option cycling through all the jpgs in the albums folder.......that would be rather nice.

The Banshee FAQ states the following with respect to cover art:

Where does Banshee get its cover art?
Banshee looks first in the audio file itself for embedded artwork, then
in the folder the file is in, then from Rhapsody, then Amazon, then finally
Last.fm.

While I have seen one recent post about cover art failing to be recognized,
I haven't seen an answer as to why Banshee is unable to pick up and use any
"jpg" file located in a music folder in view of the FAQ answer above. The
FAQ does not clearly state whether the cover art file needs to be named in
any particular way or have a specific file type. Therefore, I have to assume
that pretty much any file name will do: i.e., cover.jpg, folder.jpg, The
Beatles - Hard Days Night.jpg, etc.

In other words, if the music folder has a jpg file in it, shouldn't Banshee,
100% of the time, be able to use it as the cover art for the tracks in that
folder?
