I've been hoping that a feature like this would be implemented for a
while. I have multiple copies of the same songs that have been ripped
at different qualities, and I would love for the option to audit my
duplicates and remove the lower quality copies. So for my use, it
would definitely need to be an audio fingerprinting solution. I
personally think that this would be a great plugin for banshee.
Unfortunately I also don't have any good ideas on how to organize the
ui for it, but a quick hack could be to add a column to the library
view for the fingerprint/hash/whatever, then you could easily sort on
it and see the duplicates that way.
