Hi, I've downloaded the latest tarball and I'm trying to build under
Ubuntu 7.10. I followed the instructions about installing prerequisites.
I get this error when trying to configure:

Requested  'ndesk-dbus-1.0 >= 0.5' but version  of NDesk.DBus is 0.4.2


I look on www.ndesk.org/DBusSharp , but don't see it there. I googled
this problem and someone had the same problem a while ago, but there was
no useful response.

Can anyone help?

Dear Dan,

As you seem inexperienced with compiling software I would suggest you investigate the packages found in this ppa.

https://launchpad.net/~banshee-team/+archive

These nice people build packages for your distribution which you can just install and it will be kept updated.
