I have an iPod shuffle and I noticed a problem with it to make it
charge. When plugging it in, the ipod is mounted and then enters the "do
not disconnect" mode, where the orange light keeps blinking. But it does
not charge while in this mode. Actually, I left it sitting there for a
week in this mode and it didn't charge at all. I need to open banshee
and select to "eject ipod" to make it exit the "do not disconnect" mode
and then start charging.
On Windows, that is a little different if you have iTunes with auto-sync
turned on (what's default). The device also enters the "do not
disconnect" mode when you plug it in. Then iTunes is launched and
synchonizes the iPod, ejecting it. Thus, automatically we have the
device charging, with no need to eject it manually for that.
Does Banshee have such a feature (auto-sync and automatic eject)? Do you
have plans to add it? Should I file a report in bugzilla?
Your comments are welcome.
Thanks,
Rodrigo
