Maybe this has been posted before!
but i think it would be great for Banshee to have a plugin or an option
or something similar to what Amarok, Listen or Exaile have, a Wikipedia
plugin that really works (...and that you can install easy or for it to
be part of the official plugins), something that can be used to find
lyrics and singer's information ...

I know there is already a plugin... but it doesnt work.. (at least in my
case) an sometimes it crashes banshee....

Also... I'm not a pro with Linux and I had a really bad time trying to
install that plugin.... so i think that if it's made it should be easy
to install...

Have a good day everybody! and Sorry for my bad English ^^

I second that...

Even if you fix the syntax errors in the code of the plugin it just don't work apparently there is something wrong with the "search string", I'll try to fix it on the weekend.

Maybe someone can help me with that :)

I wrote the WP plugin way back (almost a year ago now) and it's been
ages since the codebase has been touched and I consider it far from
maintained :)

The existing code is decent from a "all i want is it to open wikipedia
for me" use case, but it's not totally practical for the average user
who just wants to learn various things about what they are listening to.
We had talked about setting up some sort of generic interface in Banshee
so that plugins can feed external metadata like this into a properly
presented UI, but to the best of my knowledge it's not been implemented.

If anyone has any bright ideas and interest in working on this, I'm
happy to help -- just ask! Feel free to bug me (trickv) on IRC.

Cheers,
Patrick
