Releasing the resource on pause would not be a good thing. GStreamer has
an explicit paused state for a reason. Banshee also is not concerned
with low level things like your sound card - it must be addressed at the
GStreamer level. You can probably fix your issue by setting/tweaking the
audio output sink by running 'gstreamer-properties.' Make sure you're
not using OSS, etc.
