For those who are not familiar with Pandora, it's a free, and legal, online
music player which you can use to listen to a huge archive of popular music.
The only catch is, you don't have 100% control over what you listen to,
which is great because you get to hear great artists you've never heard of
before. Pandora is located at www.pandora.com. The way it works is that you
enter the name of an artist you like. The first track it plays is then a
song by that artist or band, after which you get music from other similar
bands with music it thinks you might like. It's a brilliant service. But to
be legal, there's a limit to how and what can be played. You can't replay a
track you just heard and you can't skip more than a certain amount of tracks
within an hour. Also they provide links to amazon for purchasing the song
where they get commission. I listen to this service all the time. More than
I listen to my own music. It's like radio channel, but they play music
specially chosen for you, and the tracks are played uninterrupted.

I've seen programs for windows that lets you listen to the channel, but it
wasn't really legal because it copied the songs off the server onto the hard
disk, so I went back to using the online version.

If it's possible, I think this would be a great plugin. Maybe Pandora would
be willing to cooperate with Banshee in making this. I'm sure they wouldn't
mind as long as the "Purchase from Amazon" link is still in there. They live
off the commissions after all.

The plugin would display the currently playing track, the option to vote on
the track, skip a track, etc, just like the online player.

So, to see how the online version works, take a look at www.pandora.com.

That sounds neat and similar to what this bug is looking for
