Re: [Banshee-List] Can Banshee play streaming MP3?

You could easily write a plugin for simple streaming over HTTP, because
the underlying media engines support HTTP (this is how I made DAAP
streaming work... proxy DAAP over an embedded light weight HTTP server).

By simple I mean a plugin that adds a menu item that would bring up an
input dialog that asks for an HTTP stream URI. It would then load the
stream into the active media engine and play it.

iRadio support could probly be implemented as a source now that shows
streams in the playlist view.

Each method might require minor tweaks in core, but nothing drastic. If
anyone wants to work on either kind of plugin, please let me know, and
I'll be happy to help/answer questions/make necessary core tweaks.

Best,
Aaron
