i'm trying to install the 0.11.3 release on Ubuntu 6.10. I downloaded the tarball but when i execute "./configure --prefix=/usr" i get:

Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you
installed software in a non-standard prefix.

Alternatively, you may set the environment variables GLIB_CFLAGS
and GLIB_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config.
See the pkg-config man page for more details.

I can't see any glib package available to install on Ubuntu 6.10 repositories.
Any ideas ?

This seems to be the same problem I am getting with SUSE 10.1 and Banshee CVS, as I already stated in:
