Hi everyone,

I have created some code recently for BCE, but despite having commit
access, I have submitted the changes in form of patches this time,
with the aim of getting some feedback before actually committing.
Unfortunately, I haven't gotten any developer feedback so far, but
that's the feedback i was aiming for.

Could anyone of the more "senior" give me some feedback on the
proposed changes, namely
