Thanks for that information!  I tested on Debian Jessie (3.14.5), Stretch (3.22.11) and Buster (3.24.4) and 
couldn't reproduce the effect either.  Looks like an “Ubuntu-special” which isn't worth to be investigated 
any more, IMHO!
