Happy Mew Year to all.

I'm in process of migrating to a new PC, so I don't know if these

The migration is 98% complete, so that's a big relief. (Maybe more -
I'm just allowing that I probably forgot something.)
Although the checkbox to fetch mail every x minutes is unchecked, for
the past few days, Balsa has been checking for new mail (POP3) on a
regular basis (maybe ever 10 minutes or so.) Is there some other
setting that might affect this? When I'm not actually sitting in
front of this box, I don't want it fetching mail, so I can check for
new mail via IMAP on my other devices. It's worked fine that way for
many years. Note it was also working as expected on this new box for
at least several days or weeks. Actually, I'm not certain it is on
any regular basis, but it has been checking when I'm nowhere near the
keyboard, and it also sometimes seems spontaneous - or responding to
some inadvertent mouse movement or keyboard click.
The spontaneous fetch has stopped, I have no idea why it started or why
it stopped.

Next issue, in settings, I have checked the box to expand threads on
opening a mailbox, but threads are fully collapsed. If I expand one,
then close and reopen Balsa, it's closed again. Is there some secret
setting I don't know about, or is there something I can check for in
some config file?
This is still the case, and I found an additional annoyance. If all
threads are collapsed, I have a message near the bottom of the message
list selected, and I hit Ctl-E to expand all threads, all of a sudden,
I am up near the top of the message list. I suspect if I was on the
N'th entry, I am now still on the N'th entry - but it had been only
counting threads, and now it is counting all messages. Is there any
reasonably easy way to have it scroll so the selected item/message is
still in the middle of the displayed section?
Thanks for saving my sanity.
Still the case.
Jack
