Peter, yes, I too though think the new users should use by default system fonts. I would even go further and say that users who upgrade get their fonts reset to the system ones. This would give balsa automatically a consistent look.
Dear List,
A recent commit to the gtk3 branch adds the option to use system fonts, as an alternative to the existing capability of choosing specific fonts. If it is selected, the default fonts for GtkTextView and GtkLabel are used, and are modified only in making the Subject line bold.
As committed to the branch, the default is *not* to use system fonts, so users of Balsa built from git will continue to see the fonts that you have chosen, and that choice will be saved for future sessions. However, for a new user the default should arguably be to use system fonts, so I propose that before the next release, the default should be changed to *use* the system font. Replacing it with Monospace takes just a few mouse clicks.
Any thoughts? All opinions welcome!
Peter
