Re: Help required

	Hi, Michelle,
that was interesting to read your story and troubles you've seen.

As of the Thunderbird case it was a true surprise for me you could lose your mail with it. Thousands of users using it and proving it is ok, so you definitely did something wrong. But it is offtopic here.

1) Are there any plans for Balsa to use anything other than flat files?
No need, as Balsa supports mbox, maildir and MH. This is more then average in the hood :) You just need to figure out what _is_ your mail true format. Hint: Thunderbird uses mbox which you can just put into Balsa's mail folder omitting *.msf

2) Is there an option for outgoing mails to be filtered to folders?
3) Is there an option that incoming mails can be forwarded to other e-mail recipients?

As I understand, you use Linux for 9 years, maybe more.
In unix, we usually have some programs doing one job, other programs doing another job. That's why Balsa doesn't do everything including making coffee. For incoming mail you would probably want procmail to process it (as I do too). For outgoing... mmm, I don't see a straight way for it, only hackish ways.
Anyone have ideas?

4) Is there a regular automatic maintenance routine to help guard against corruption?

That part is hard for me to understand.
Can you describe in more details?
