Alpine resp. Pine does it.  You may define your own collections, 
collections contain of folders from one or even more IMAP servers and make 
it easy to check or read new mail in contained folders.  There is by 
default one collection "Incoming folders" where you start.

Like Android does with it's unified inbox?  But it does no threading :-(
