In any case, I now get the same error I got from the 2.2.3 tarball, ie configure fails with *** Neither aspell >=0.50 (recommended) nor pspell (deprecated) library was found.
However, $ dpkg -l| grep aspell ii aspell-bin 0.50.5-3 ii aspell-en 0.51-1-1 ii libaspell-dev 0.50.5-3 ii libaspell15 0.50.5-3 Hum, I'm quite puzzled, actually. -Kacper
