It was fixed in CVS - I guess the fix propagated slowly. BTW, we use now
some extra constants that appeared in recently released libesmtp-1.0.3r1
to have a more robust TLS support: users of CVS/HEAD are strongly urged
to upgrade. Link to libesmtp is on balsa website.
