libeel is also used by nautilus and eog in Gnome 2.4.1. Anyway, I wrote a  
small patch (against the 2-0 cvs branch, see below) which checks if eel is  
present and falls back to the old method if not. Note that I had to re- 
order the packing of the widgets as otherwise the close button didn't work  
any more. I also removed a check for BALSA_MAJOR < 2...

Opinions?
