The problem arises also with aspell. Since your setup may vary, try to 
`locate lib*spell.la`, assuming yiz have locate and a somewhat recent 
db available, otherwise `find / -name 'lib*spell.la'`.

Alternatively it should work with a "--disable-threads" build.
