I must say that these new icons look very nice. I think the only missing 
part is a smooth upgrade path.

Presently, the unknown toolbar items are ignored. What about restoring the 
toolbar to the default one if the toolbar configuration reading error is 
encountered? Is there any situation when it could backfire?
