text colors - a wish

I was about to change the regexp that is used for quoted text, when it
ocurred to me that it would be good to have different colors associated
with different regexps.

Right now we can only use one color, associated with one regexp, right?

Initially I thought about not only having quoted text in a different
color, but have http links in another color, and email addresses in
another one, etc.
This would be like this:
Web links - Color - regexp
FTP links - Color - regexp
email address - Color - regexp
Other - Color - regexp

But then the best and most flexible option is to have each user use
whatever regexp to color anything they like.
Although the above examples would certainly be the most used, some users
could use this feature to color other things. Some that came to my mind
are:

i) prices ($79.95). I regularly receive price lists from several
suppliers.
ii) SPAM. Some spam or mail chains use mostly uppercase letters. I would
color this text red to recognize it rapidly.
iii) custom uses. I receive some newsletters that, although written in
plain text, have some degree of 'layout', like headers or main topics,
subtopics, etc. I can come up with a reasonable regexp to color these as
well.
Also some mailing list signatures (the ones that tell you how to
unsubscribe) have some particular structure, like the one at the end of
this message.

Do you think this would be a good idea to have in balsa? I would like to
know your opinions.

Given that we already have regexp coloring working, it should be a
matter of reorganizing the Preferences->Misc->Colors window or am i
missing something?

Fernan.
