instability when using IMAP?

Balsa 1.0.0 built from src.rpm on Mandrake 7.1, using IMAP to access one
user's 5 mail folders via IMAP. The mail server is RH6.1, wu-imap
2000.RC3-1. Mail server setup is like this:
/var/spool/mail/user 		#inbox
/home/user/mail
		-> folder1	# folders which recieve
		-> folder2	# their mail via procmail
		-> ...


Balsa would be left running but idle for hours at a time, and when the
user returned to do something (read a message, compose a message,
anything) one of three things would happen:
1) nothing
2) an error re: losing IMAP lock
3) crash.

I think I've taken care of the issue by moving the user's mailbox onto the
Mandrake machine with fetchmail, but thought I'd mention it.
