Umlauts in 1.1.7: solved

Hi there,
I got a number of useful tips by Axel, Albrecht and Brian. I have to confess, that they were right, but my system was wrong. I set the locale to de_DE..., but this was not installed in my system (slack 7.1).

Once I had started balsa from the command line, I saw the message 'locale not supported by C library', and consequently was able to install it. Until now, my system was set to posix, so I never noticed the missing files. Here is a nice link for people having the same problem: http://www.lionking.org/~kianga/docs/linux-quickies
