Re: profiles

My $0.02, as this is a feature I feel would be useful, I do not think that
using multiple Linux login accounts is really the best way to handle
different outgoing accounts. I use different accounts at different domain
names for different purposes: eg. work, play, school, I have many different
E-mail addresses, all of which are "me". For work related activities I
would like the "From" field to reflect my work E-mail address, and other
activities may use my generic tripi.com mail address. Right now I do this
manually by changing the "From" field, and reconfiguring the SMTP server on
my machine, which is quite a pain.

I do not use these multiple E-mail addresses as different people, like
"profiles" in Netscape Navigator, just as different activities. Especially
since I have an entire network of machines sharing user account
information, adding new users for each new E-mail address is not only
incorrect, it's impractical.

Terence Haddock
