Cant access POP server

I have been trying to sort out a problem with version 0.8.1
on RedHat 6.1 (HelixGnome - SawTooth WM) where I cant access
any POP3 mail server (I have no internal mail). I have seen
that there is a patch suggested but since I am not a
programmer it is not much use to me. I have also other
posts that have reflected the same problem.

Is there going to be a new version of Balsa anytime soon I
can download, with the bugs fixed that are preventing my
accessing any kind of mail I need? In the meatime I am
using Kmail, which is not really very good for me.
