bug, 0.9.2 race in open_mailbox

I triped what seems to be a race in open_mailbox. I hit "Send" and aparently
balsa was trying to fetch mail from pop. 
balsa went into a nanosleep tight loop (no gui redraw) and when i sent a 
segv at it (duh should have used abrt) the "checking pop" window apeared 
(no redraw though). 
acording to the trace both threads were stuck at libbalsa_open_mailbox.

i'll try to reproduce it (hard prolly) and collect more info. if that fails
a code inspection is in order (postponed till tonight)
