Re: Mail list for Seoul GNOME users group

I think an officially blessed mailing list is always better.

But I also think an old-style mailing list will not work in Korea in
general. South Korea is the first country where Email began to die.
[1] [2] I'm a mailing list lover so not very happy about this. But in
reality, only 35% of the google-kr group members receive mail. The
rest of the members just read messages via web.

So the gnome.org list is good for the official contact point. As a
community for many people, I doubt it.

To Changwoo,
How do you think about this?

Current is a google group list, I think an official GNOME list for Korean
GNOME community will be helpful to increase the visibility of Korean GNOME
community and build closer bound with GNOME.

If gnome-korean-list is created, it will be displayed below, and lots of
people will find this list and join Korean local community.
https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo

and you can add mail list information for Korean users group here:
https://live.gnome.org/UserGroups#GNOME_Korea

When the local community is growing bigger and maturer, you may need more
than just one google group. Take the Beijing GNOME users Group as example,
we have a google group for core members, and gnome-cn-list for wider
community. We use google group to discuss event organizing and use
gnome-cn-list for questions and answers, discussion latest gnome technicals,
bugs and news.

It is your decision to choose which list to use now, but it is always good
to have an official GNOME mail list for Korean community.

Finally, thanks a lot for the hard work of organizing GNOME.Asia 2013. Wish
it is a bug success for Summit 2013!
