Re: Discuss about summit T-shirts

Hi JC and all,

I was thinking the GNOME.Asia organizing team vote this T-shirt design on IRC meeting. Then we can announce the result and print the T-shirt the next day. This is the easy way to do.

But you did a great job on the T-shirt contest page, my only concern to vote the T-shirt design by login account are :
1. When we will open the gnome.asia website registration to public ? What if we don't not have many people registered then we do not have enough vote for the T-shirt?
2. What if people who will not attend GNOME.Asia but they want to vote ? They will need to login the Asia website ?  Then we have a group of people who registered on the website but not attending the summit ?
3. What if we don't have T-shirt design uploaded before deadline ? I assume we at least will prepare some design by ourselves.

Thanks, Emily and Tong

This testing site is based on incompleted branch of master. So registration won't work in this testing site.
About 2013.gnome.asia, I guess that Will will fix this db issue.

You can test with this temporarily accounts for test in this testing site.

ID / PASSWD
* guest / guest
* guest1 / guest
* guest2 / guest
* guest3 / guest
* guest4 / guest

Now, you can add SVG/XCF/PNG image and vote +1.

I'll add more features by this weekend.
- Command line uploading/editing tool
- Detail View page (Its URL could be used to share by SNS)
- Delete

Until weekend, freely test and let me know if any issue.

Cheers,
JC

How to download the template? Due to the website register with a DatabaseError at /accounts/register/...

And GOME Asia 2013 Website has the same problem too.

Hi all,

Below is the draft for the T-shirt contest.

JoonCheol, I see you already made the T-shirt vote page: http://211.110.33.53:8000/tshirts/2/, that's cool.

How about opinion from others?

Sammy,

How about take this as an example?
-Emily

Do we have any example for prize reference ? If we do, let's copy it.

But personally I think cash prize is not necessary because it is a honour to designer if people wear the T-shirt designed by him/her, so I think prize is giving 2 t-shirts to winner (plus any non-cash award/gift/prize if any).

What's opinion of local team and others ? :)

Vote by GNOME.Asia committee, so the we can vote it on IRC meeting.
Apri 16 seems rush for design, so how about vote on April 23 irc meeting.

So time line is:
Announce it:  April 8
Deadline of submission:  April 22
Vote by commitee: April 23
Announce the winner and final design: April 25

The Prize is 100 USD + 2 T-shirt.

If everyone is OK with this, I am going to write the detail of the contest.

It is too rush to design too...

I suppose 4/08 announce the contest starting, and 4/21 starts voting.  4/28 is the finally deadline, all event should be done at that day.

About four weeks for Korea company to make the T-shirts, I think it really enough

I think Emily suggestion would be too rush for printing.

So, I suggest that submission deadline on 4/14, and vote on 4/16 irc meeting by committee (who showed up).

FYI

I'm working on T-shirt contest page.

This is procedure what I'm thinking and doing ...
1. Download template (svg for inkscape) http://211.110.33.53:8000/tshirts/download-template (my testing server)
2. Edit on user's PC using Gimp or Inkscape
3. Upload svg/xcf/png to server (in progress, http://211.110.33.53:8000/tshirts/)
4. Vote on page (in progress)

After done, I'll request to merge into official server.

With Regards,
JC
