I think it looks much more professional and legitimate coming from a
gnome.org address.
To get a
gnome.org address, you just need to become a GNOME Foundation member. I believe that planning GNOME.Asia would definitely qualify you, if your past work hasn't!

Is it really required to obtain a @gnome.org alias ? Because, I have
no idea where to request one. I'll add a few folks on to the list so
as to facilitate discussion and updates.
