I've tried rebuilding libgda, when that failed to work I rebuilt every
package that I have installed on my box, as well as trying to install
anjuta on another Gentoo box that I have here. I'll open a bug in the
Gentoo bugzilla, but I'm still not even sure which package has the
bug.

There are two patches applied in the Gentoo ebuild, one makes the
symbol-db plugin optional, and one turns off debugging unless it is
specifically requested. For the record, I've tried disabling those
patches in case they were causing the problem. However if I build
anjuta with the patches, and with the symbol-db plugin disabled, then
I'm finally able to use Anjuta again.

I'll report back if/when I find the source of the problem.
