If I set bin_PROGRAMS=  (yes a blank) it does what I want it to do and
just installs the libraries I've created.  Now (hopefully) I can just
list the binaries I want installed.

One thing that I've noticed that I hope isn't true.

Looks like I'll have to have

prog1_SOURCES= src/source1.c ...etc.

and MANUALLY update that as I add sources later on.  That will be a PITA
if that's true. We'll see.
