Not so; in the beginning (i.e. 2 years ago, when the end-of-life of code
generation in Glade was a matter of discussion) I too was afraimed and
not so glad to use xml for my applications, but now I'm quite happy with
libglade. Moreover, it is not so painfull the porting of old
applications to libglade and - in addition - Glade-3 is much better than
its predecessor.

I had a look at eclipse some time ago, but I think that Anjuta is the
best IDE available - at least for my needs. At this regard, I strongly
suggest you to use a more recent release (2.0 is quite "experimental"
and does not give its developers all the kudos that they deserve)
