You could try to force the installation of a binary package,
but I doubt that it will work. Another possibility is, you
could try to extract a binary package of some other distro.
But the chances are, that it will not work and you will
waste a lot of time.

I had to download nearly all of gnome in order to compile
anjuta. 

laserbeam% du -sh /usr/ports/distfiles/gnome /usr/ports/distfiles/gnome2 
5.2M    /usr/ports/distfiles/gnome
 49M    /usr/ports/distfiles/gnome2

And all of that were downloaded on dial up, 33KB/s!.
