it is not only about blocking about the ability to give
more information to the user. i.e with this new api
you could provides to the user how many occurrences
have been found on the document, or in which one
you are :)

For now though, I never saw any real blocking in sync searching but it
might be useful for things like "mark all search results in buffer".
Searching in multiple files is async in anjuta anyway.
