OK - I don't want to get sucked too far into this whole metaphor but I'll play along for a while. I'd like to point out that Gnome isn't an abstract thing, or me, or the GUADEC committee, or the Foundation. As Luis said Gnome is people, specifically everyone who contributes in whatever way. 'Gnome' organises a whole bunch of parties through the year, GUADEC, Boston Summit, GUADEC-ES, GUADEC-BR, and probably others I'm not even aware of - each with their own flavour and style (that will change over time as different people get involved). Anyone who's part of Gnome can organise a party if they wish (and are sufficiently motivated).

Well to play along with the party metaphor just a little longer - when I'm invited to a party I generally like to bring along a token of appreciation for the host(s) for the effort of organising and hosting the party.

Anyway back to the real world. If after thinking about it you're still not happy with the registration fee then please fill in a sponsorship application just for the registration fee.

Regards,

Paul
