A distribution, or two. Debian and OpenSUSE.

I don't favour either one, because I don't develop software for either 
one. Application packages will cause whichever they require to be 
installed as dependencies.

I don't plan either. My guess would be that on Debian I end up having 
both at some point, because my system is a mixture of stable and 
unstable, but on OpenSUSE there might be some grand switch at some 
point.

X.org. Is there any distro still using XF86?

Yes, but it is not in use.
