Hi Krishnakant:The extended where am I feature of Orca (e.g, KP_Enter pressed twice quickly for the desktop layout) should give you a lot of this information.
For now, we still keep it at a "pay the performance penalty only if you ask for it" level because it can take some time to gather the information.
As Joanie mentioned, however, we are thinking about some ways to gather and maintain this information so things will be much more performant. That will not be done in the GNOME 2.26 timeframe, though.
WillPS - for the 2.26 stuff, you can always view the ChangeLog in SVN as well as the NEWS files. We also try to be diligent about marking the bugs in Bugzilla database, but it doesn't always reflect all the work. Here's a URL that should do a search for things that will be in Orca v2.26.0:

I have some ideas about implementing the former (for all structural navigation elements) which would contribute to an overall more performant experience. I hope to be able to look at those soon. Right now I've got the 2.26 release deadlines to contend with.Yes the number of links and headings should also be announced, better even, the users choos to hear the count for which ever element/elements they want to know. and what is coming for 2.26? happy hacking.
