compiling glade-2

hi!

is it possible to compile glade-2 without gnome?
I know I need to install scrollkeeper first. but scrollkeeper's configure
says

checking for DocBook XML DTD... configure: error: not found. Make sure you
have the DocBook DTD installed and ensure that it is registered in
/etc/xml/cataloc

how to install this DocBook XML DTD ?
