What happened to imlib?

So I just upgraded from a prerelease of Slackware 9 to the current 
stable release.  Imlib is gone!?!?!  I need it to compile my gtk-canvas 
stuff, based on 0.1 of the gtk-canvas.

Even worse, when trying to compile gtk-canvas-0.2 ... I get errors about 
a flavor of guile?  Why would this be necessary?

Can someone help me get my gtk-canvas back up and running?  Currently, I 
can't compile an apps.  ;-(

I also downloaded and installed gtk-1.2.10 ... but still no imblib or 
related utils.
