Re: please commit few more SK translations.

Thank You. The intltool-update seems to work for me.

These info should be available somewhere for newbie translators for sure. Some page like "New translator's basic howto"
-what software You should have
-what software You can choose between
-contact Your team here...
-if Your team dosen't exist, create one this way...
-select a project
-get the file
-if dosen't exist, grab the closest language and edit header fields...
-update against en-GB
-edit
-upload it here (link inbound)

and so on

Sincerely
Peter

Hi, Claude

I downloaded the files from GNOME 2.19 sources. Do You mean that they are simply based on old english files?

Somewhere in the process, the files need to be updated with more recent
strings. This is not automatically done in SVN. Either you pick the
merged file on Damned Lies, or you do it yourself by downloading the
source code and doing the "intltool-update sk" in the po sub-directory.
A third possibility would be to download a fresh pot and merge yourself
the two files: "msgmerge old.po new.pot > new.po".

Is it possible to simply merge them into the new files and then just finalize them? I use Poedit -is there any better software for this case?

See above. I personally prefer working with KBabel, but I'm afraid to be
doomed for this :-) Poedit should be fine.

Sorry for asking these "simple things", but I didn't recieve any info about the translation process, so I just do it the way I explored myself.. Maybe there should be some more complex info for new translators somewhere near the "join the GNOME" site..

Don't be sorry to ask questions. And yes, there's definitely a need of
updating http://live.gnome.org/TranslationProject with really useful
information for newcomers.

Hallo translation head team!

Congratulations and thanks to anyone who contributes.

I'd also like to ask You for help.

Please, could someone commit my translation improvements? The Slovak (SK) team head and the only listed member Marcel Telka is being very busy last quarter and I'm concerned that he will not be able anytime soon to review and commit the translation improvements I have continually posted here:

http://bugzilla.gnome.org/buglist.cgi?query_format=advanced&emailreporter1=1&emailtype1=substring&email1=tuharsky

I know there is only a week more to the pre-release, so could someone commit the files so that we will not miss the 2.20 term?
Hi Peter,

As I commented on http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=463079#c3
most of your translations are based on old POT files. You should update
them with newer POT from Damned Lies before someone commits them.

And as Johannes said, we would very much appreciate a message of Marcel
on this list about the current state of Slovak translation team.

Regards,

Claude
