Hi,
go to Contacts in evolution and check the respective contact, how that
was imported. That should help identify the issue. By the way, if your
Thunderbird supports it, export your contacts to a vCard, rather than
ldif, and import them.

The name I want is not even in the Evo contacts. It IS in the ldif file
that I imported.
So there was something strange with the ldif file that Evo didn't
understand and so didn't import the contacts properly. Try importing
the contact using vCard.
